Prolotherapy and Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy | Fort Worth, TX

Prolotherapy and Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy are two types of regenerative medicine therapies that are used to treat musculoskeletal pain and injuries.

Prolotherapy is a treatment where a solution is injected into damaged or weakened ligaments or tendons, with the aim of stimulating the body's natural healing process. The injection is meant to cause a mild inflammation in the area, which in turn stimulates the body's natural healing response, leading to the formation of new connective tissue and strengthening of the weakened area.

PRP therapy, on the other hand, involves the injection of a concentrated solution of platelets derived from the patient's own blood. The platelets contain growth factors that can help to stimulate tissue repair and regeneration. The blood is drawn from the patient and then processed to concentrate the platelets, which are then injected into the site of injury.

Both prolotherapy and PRP therapy can be used to treat a range of musculoskeletal conditions, including chronic pain, arthritis, and sports injuries. They are minimally invasive procedures that can be performed in our office, with minimal downtime or recovery. However, the effectiveness of these treatments can vary depending on the patient's individual circumstances and the nature and extent of their injury or condition.

Dr Dombroski offers these non-surgical methods of tendon, cartilage, muscle and ligament reconstruction and the injections are ultrasound guided to ensure maximum effectiveness.
